Dr Kanishka BEDI

Dr Kanishka Bedi teaches 660 Operations Management and 701 Project Management Methods at U21Global. He previously taught MBA courses at India's University of Lucknow, the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow and Jaipuria Institute of Management. He has formerly been the Co-Director of the Management Programme for Entrepreneurs and Family Businesses (jointly with N. S. Raghavan Center for Entrepreneurial Learning, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore).

Dr Bedi has been instrumental in designing and delivering cutting-edge online/ blended executive education programmes for leading organisations across the globe. He has brought about several innovations like the use of digital-story telling, deployment of the Wiki, authentic assessments, blending face-to-face with online training, etc. in designing and customising executive education programmes to fulfill the unique training requirements of corporations. In his capacity as Vice-President (Executive Education), he provides critical support to the global recruitment teams in understanding the training requirements of corporate clients, customisation of the online content, and deploying delivery modes most conducive to achieve the learning objectives of the executive education programmes. He is currently spearheading the effort in initiating and forging institutional partnerships for U21Global in the USA, Malaysia, India and the Middle East.

Dr Bedi is the author of three books - Production & Operations Management, Quality Management, and Management & Entrepreneurship - all published by Oxford University Press, New Delhi. He has presented papers at international conferences and published in journals and international conference proceedings, as well as provided consultancy and training to organisations including Hero Honda, Tata Motors, Tata Chemicals, HPCL, NTPC, Apollo Hospitals, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Steria. In 2008, Dr Bedi received the Best Paper Award at the E-Learning Excellence Forum, Dubai, UAE. In 2010, he was conferred the Excellence in Online Education Award by U21Global.

He is executive peer reviewer for the International Journal of Production Research, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Australasian Journal of Educational Technology and International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology. His research interests include quality function deployment and service quality management, particularly in education and healthcare. Dr Bedi has turned his attention in more recent times to researching the impact of faculty facilitation in online education, the utility of digital storytelling in online classes, the learning design of blended corporate training programmes and innovations in improving collegiality amongst faculty.

He earned his PhD from the Department of Business Administration, University of Lucknow. He has a Bachelor's degree in Technology (Electronics and Communication Engineering) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Operations Management).
