Purnendu MANDAL

Purnendu Mandal serves as Professor and Head of Department of Information Systems and Analysis at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. He is also the director of SAP-University Alliance Programme at Lamar. Prior to that, he was a Professor in MIS, Lewis College of Business, Division of Management & Marketing, Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. In 1993-2000, he was a senior lecturer at the School of Engineering and Technology, Deakin University, in Australia.

With more than 20 years of teaching, research and consulting experience in India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, the UK and the US, Dr Mandal's professional interests include information systems development and application, eBusiness, supply chain management, total quality management and system dynamic modelling.

Dr Mandal pioneered the spread of system dynamics (SD) in India and Australasia through the establishment of SD societies and chapter and the organisation of national and international conferences. He has published more than 100 journal and conference articles and serves on the editorial boards of three academic journals. He is a member of Decision Sciences Institute, in which he served on the publication committee (2002-2004) and international affairs committee (2000-2002). Dr Mandal earned his doctorate in system dynamics from the School of Management, University of Bradford, UK.
