Faculty Excellence Awards 2010
Outstanding graduates are often the result of the symbiotic relationship between the faculty and the student body. Through diligent mentorship, supervision and encouragement, our faculty has capitalised on the learning potential of every student at U21Global Graduate School and consistently produced knowledge leaders.
In recognition of faculty excellence, we have launched three award categories:
- Outstanding Professor Award
- Most Innovative Professor Award
- Excellence in Online Education Award
We are pleased to announce the recipients of the Faculty Excellence Awards 2010, which considers all sections starting from January through to December 2009.
Outstanding Professor Award
The Outstanding Professor Awards are presented to three professors in U21Global Graduate School with the highest Student Evaluation of Faculty (SEF) and Subject Area Coordinator Evaluation of Faculty (SACEF) scores. The SEF score is determined by students via U21Global's online survey at the end of every class, while the SACEF score is a sign-off between the SAC and the professors at the end of every class.
This year, the prestigious awards are given to the following faculty members:
- Dr Carol Connell
- Dr Lloyd Williams
- Dr Ken Wong
Each winner will receive US$1,000 and a certificate of commendation.
Most Innovative Professor Award
The nominees for this award have honed teaching into a fine art. In this student-nominated award category, the professor with the highest number of votes will emerge as the winner. U21Global Graduate School is delighted to present this award to Dr Mamata Bhandar who will receive US$1,000 and a certificate of commendation.
Excellence in Online Education Award
It takes a different class of professors to achieve excellence in an online environment. Gone are the conventions of traditional education; the modern online educator needs to be internet-savvy, possess innovative teaching techniques and a global perspective. The award is given to professors with average SACEF scores of at least 4.30 or more. This high score bears a testament to the effectiveness and efficiency of our faculty members. To be eligible for this award, professors need to teach at least two sections in 2009.
